This website provides information on the HyperVerse research project of the Systemsoftware and Distributed Systems Working Group at the University of Trier, Germany, in cooperation with the University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg.
What is the HyperVerse?
With the HyperVerse project, we investigate how collaborative virtual environments like Second Life or MMOGs can scale to a global dimension! In order to realize this vision, our project has a strong focus on self-organizing P2P systems.
Apart from developing fundamental concepts and technologies we also implement them for test and demonstration purposes. The HyperVerse browser, a lightweight and P2P-based client for massive scalable virtual worlds which can be downloaded in our Download section, showcases the latest progress.
